I am constantly checking out the Groove Monster website to see what Big Dave is up to, and never cease to find so many really great things. Today I went from watching Dave do a guitar solo to listening to what I consider one of the greatest songs ever writen, "A Change Is Gonna Come", being sung by Al Green and Booker T. I highly commend whoever picked out that song and put it on the website, and I thank you for sharing it with me. Cannot tell you how much I love it!!!!! Had the once-in-a-lifetime priveledge of watching Patti LaBelle sing it live. And Dave I don't have to tell you what I thought of your solo. I left Cocoa Beach in 95 and have sorely missed you guys - wore those little bumps on my Jammin' Live CD out! I turned a drummer friend from Tony Rio and Voodoo Chili (the best NM version of the Blues)on to your CD last week... They LOVED IT... Coming back to the East Coast for a visit mid June - I hope your booked somewhere!

Used to chase the Groove Monsters up and down the space coast and caught them regularly at Pineda Inn. Glad to have found this website and will find them next time I'm back in town. One time, many years ago, I even called Dave's Mom (out of the phone book)to find out if they were still playing and she sent me to the Friday night gig somewhere in Cocoa Beach.

I first met you at DeLaura Jr. High. I ove the blues, and collect what I can. Enjoyed the birthday party. I wish we could have a Thirsty Turtle reunion party/picnic or whatever. I'd love to see Billy Crain, Bill Hoffman, Tommy Talton. I wish I had a CD burner or knew someone who does. I'd love to put the Buttrocker and Groovemonster live tapes one of the Turtle soundman copied for me onto CD and make copies for me and all of the band. Glad I got to see Freddie King, sad I never saw Albert King, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Stevie Ray and others. I'm looking forward to the April 2003 calendar. I need to spend some time with people I know!

I sincerely feel greatful to live in an area, where one can go see one of the best blues bands period. And it makes it that much cooler for me, that i'm friends with Dave and Mike, despite not seeing much of you over the years. Thanks for that. One of the last times I saw you (Spankys'), Mike asked me if I wanted to sit in on a song,on the drums, and I chickened out. How generous of you. I kicked my self for saying no, cause I was all scetched out that night, over some dumb thing, but man... thanks Mike. Dave,we both love Second Winter. I was jumping for joy (on the inside), when I heard you play " I Love Everybody ", friday night at the Falconrooster, and then again, Saturday at the Shack, when you did "Memory In Pain". Hey Dave: I've been reading the message board, and all the comments from people who have had what I consider a privledge to reap the rewards of all your hard work, natural talent, and love and devotion to music for many years. Some from as many as 20-25 years ago. But I am happy to say that I have had that honor for even longer. You have been my favorite guitarist since you were 16 years old (let them figure out the math). I never missed one night that you played in Smilin Sideways or Fresh Squeezed, bands obviously not as well known as HPB and the Groove Monsters, but a lot of great music came from both (although I did notice someone mentioned Fresh Squeezed). The night my husband and I got married 29 years ago you were playing at Big Daddy's in Daytona, spring break, and that is where I spent my wedding night, in the audience with hundreds of others watching you play. I truly loved to listen to you play and never tired of it. The last night that Fresh Squeezed played I told you that you would always be my favorite guitarist, and guess what, that hasn't changed, even though so many other things have. But obviously for the best for you, and we're so glad it has. If anyone deserves it, you do, for so many reasons, not the least being dedication. I hope that people not only continue to love listening to you play, but like me, also develop a respect for what it has taken on your part to do what you love so very much and share it with the audience, always expecting the best possible from yourself. Be well and happy. If not your oldest fan, pretty close to it. (I have to know, did you ever learn the words to "Blue Skies". I used to get a real kick out of the Dave Fiester versions.

For Jeff Donnelly - I'll bet the beautiful instrumental in E is "Lenny" by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Dave's usually willing to give it a go for me whenever I ask, sweet guy that he is.....

Thank you for a wonderful music evening in Sebastian park. Your music was so enjoyable and like I told you, I liked the mix you gave us, some sweet and some so like the old time Blues we would hear in New Orleans. Your guitar and singing was outstanding. A friend of mine just loaned me your new CD. I was glad to know you were still rockin'. I used to travel to Cocoa Beach on business, but havn't been there for years. Listening to your live CD brought back great memories of sitting in Surf Side, drinking too many beers, watching the babes in thongs and listening to the best live blues I've ever experieced. I'll be buying copies to give to friends. The Northwest needs to be introduced to your talent. Please keep recording. I'll buy anything you put out.

First band I remember was Raindriver with Wally Dentz in the Rathskeller in Gville in 1970... then Tight Shoes with that crazy Lee Swimmer.. he still owes me money...then Fresh Squeezed at the Big Daddy's in Gville in '73.., then 10 years of the Legendary Groove Monsters at Mr Bill's in Port Canaveral... Thats a lot of drivin and jammin. Only guys over 40 remember the Leland Mississippi Blues and the Mean Town Blues... its a way of life...

Big Dave: Great to see you guys at Townsend's last nite - what a surpise to also see Floyd Radford play! My friends and I had a great time dancing and enjoying The Blues. We kinda miss your old keyboard player, he certainly added a lot of color, but your current guy is pretty damn good. Please book as many O-town gigs as you can, and we promise to get over to the coast a few times.

dave, i saw you and your groove monsters april 7th at dr. joes. you guys were great as usual! i bought 2 cd's from you dave-great stuff on them! i want to thank you dave for your kindness in regards to my fathers passing away--you are a really nice person--i'll be moving back to florida to be closer to my family(my mom, sister & brother) - we all need each other now, especially my mom--i took my sister on april 7th to see you guys-she loves your sound too-so she and her husband are going to find out where you'll be next -and will be injoying your music--hey, i've added someone else to the groove monsters fan club! i'll look forward to seeing you and your groovin' groove monsters sometime in august or september. until then, (signed a true groove monster fan!) Hey Dave! Thanks for keeping the blues alive around here. You guys always sound great. - I was in Key West last summer and was wearing a Groovemonster's T-shirt. A girl approached me in Sloppy Joe's and told me that you and her dad used to play together. All I can remember is that her last name had the word "Borden" in it. Hey David! Reading through the log-book was alot of fun. I was hoping I'd recognize a name or two. I've been out of the picture way too long. You've had a musical career long before you even knew you had one, if that makes any sense. In that span of time you've touched alot of people, think about it. I remember the first time I saw your face, one dark night at the Hamburger House, what a great smile. I miss it. You keep on, keepin on. You're doing great, I'm proud of you, always have been. Hi Dave! Being an old local from way back, I remember the old days of Fresh Squeezed & Tight Shoes. This is a great web site. I ended up here accidentally, but it sure made me miss my hometown. I live in Lancaster County, PA, now. It's cold as hell but we're having tons of fun anyway. Miss ya!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We were sitting out in the backyard just after midnight, and heard some jammin' killer blues a few streets over. It got us talkin' about the days of partying with the Groove Monsters. So we started out walking, following our ears. It turned out that the music we heard was just over a mile away! And the surprise... IT **WAS** THE GROOVE MONSTERS!!! We got to enjoy the last part of the evening and start of the millenium with some rockin' blues from the BEST! Thanks for rockin' Orlando tonight. It was the best party I ever crashed! Don't ever let anyone tell you to turn it down!!!

To Dave and his band (Groove Monsters). I heard you at the Sea Festival at Port Canaveral last year and I fell into the groove once again. I was really into the Blues sound back in the 70's when I played in a band at Norfolk (Ocean View), Virginia. I am now retired from the Navy and moved to Palm Bay, FL. I have been following your group every chance I get. I hope to see you all at the Pineda Inn Blues Fest this Sunday. Just a quick note on your postcards that you send me: It's Larry not Lacey! Keep feeling the music.
